“Much Too Soon” (Blake’s Song)

One of Blake's co-workers, Kirstie Davis, wrote and recorded a song in remembrance of Blake, called "Much Too Soon (Blake's Song)." Kirstie sent the song to Jeff and Debbie with the following note: "I wrote this song with love and respect for Blake. I miss him."

I woke up this morning to a text on my phone
It said that Blake had gone to heaven
Much too soon and way too young
I just sat there, staring at my phone
Wondering what did I just read
And then I prayed, ya know I prayed that they were wrong

I feel sorry for your Mom
I feel bad for your Dad
I know you’d of been a hero to the kids you’ll never have
Ya know I just don’t get it and I’ll never understand
Why you’re not here living the life you had planned

I knew you were going to do big things, I just knew it
I could tell by the way you lived your life
Always in the moment
If the roles were reversed right now, I know just what you’d say
Please don’t worry and be sad too long cause I promise
We will meet again some day

I feel sorry for your Mom
I feel bad for your Dad
I know you’d of been a hero to the kids you’ll never have
Ya know I just don’t get it and I’ll never understand
Why you’re not here living the life you had planned

You’ll never say I do, to the woman who adores you
And for those of us left behind we’re all wonderin’
How we’re gonna get through

I feel sorry for your Mom
I feel bad for your Dad
I know you’d of been a hero to the kids you’ll never have
Ya know I just don’t get it and I’ll never understand
Why you’re not here living the life you had planned

I feel sorry for your Mom
I feel bad for your Dad

You know I prayed that they were wrong
