Furthering Blake’s Legacy in 2022
We are pleased to share the Blake Cowden Leadership Foundation (BCLF) is able to further Blake's legacy by continuing support to three organizations all committed to the development of youth leadership. In October '22 it was a privilege to award a $1,500 donation to Teach One to Lead One (T1L1), an organization committed to leadership development through mentorship and character building in or public schools. T1L1 provides schools with a proven curriculum and mentoring program for students in grades K-12. As students are taught and adopt important life principles they become leaders of influence amongst their peers. By emphasizing excellence and integrity, the T1L1 principles, once learned become incorporated within the daily lives of students and play a huge role in increased performances. This organization is making a difference! You can learn more about this program at T1L1.org.
Additionally, we are excited to continue our support of the Young Leaders in Action (YLIA) program of Macon County by awarding a $1,000 donation to this amazing organization. The YLIA group is comprised of students from all Macon County High Schools. These young leaders seek impactful volunteer opportunities that allow them to “be the change” within their community. They have been on the front line empowering people of all ages from distributing backpacks filled with school supplies, organizing a Christmas toy drive, to working with senior centers. You can read more about this program and its leaders by visiting their Facebook page @YLIACFMC.
As we close out 2022 we are happy to support the importance of leadership and character building in our schools by awarding a $1,000 donation to our local Fellowship of Christian Athletes organization in support of their Leadership Camp. The FCA Leadership Camps are for student athletes and focus on teaching both practical skills for Christian growth as well as teaching leadership skills from a Christian perspective. You can read more about these camps at www.fcacamps.org.
We are so grateful for the generosity of our community, friends and family who continue to support BCLF with donations which allow us to support organizations committed to youth leadership, and are making a difference to young people in our community, state and country. We look forward to partnering with you all in 2023!
